Corded Mini-Blind Motors - Automate Mini Blinds with Simple Remotes or Voice
We use the same digital radio protocol for all our motors; the remotes reach anywhere in a typical home, through walls.
Our remotes can also control our electric low-voltage roller shade motors, window/skylight openers, CurtainCloser™ drapery and curtain kits, ShadeSlider™ skylight shades, and other devices.
The Broadlink™ RM4 Pro that we sell is a smart home hub that can 'learn' (clone) remote control signals, including those for corded mini-blind motors, TV remote functions, and lighting controls.
In the picture above, we see typical mini-blinds in a room layout where blind control would be very useful. We have 5 of these mini-blinds in our den, and it takes quite a while to raise them all (climbing over some furniture too).
It would be really nice if we could just press a button for all 5 mini-blinds to open, or issue an Alexa voice command such as "open mini-blinds". Fortunately, our special motors will allow us to do just that. You can also add Alexa voice control with the Broadlink skill.
We also removed the white cover we fabricated, exposing the battery powered motor (it works for many months, even when grid power fails):
Here is a short video showing how we accomplish this:
